Recruitment of various post in NATIONAL CENTRE FOR POLAR AND OCEAN RESEARCH

1)   The period of contract shall be of 4 months or 14 months depending on the suitability of candidates as assessed by NCPOR and shall start from November/December 2021. Based on the requirement, the contract can also be extended by few months.

2)   Contract wages of ₹ 45,103/- (fixed) per month for the entire duration of contract for those who are going to Antarctica on NCPOR contract for the first time. Contract wages of ₹ 60,138/- (fixed) per month for the entire duration of contract for those who already have been to Antarctica on NCPOR contract.

3)   Selected candidates as member of team will be entitled for free boarding & lodging onboard ship and at

Antarctica with special polar clothing. They will be entitled for special Hardship allowance (HDA) of ₹

1500/- per day during summer season and ₹ 2000/- per day during winter season for the actual duration of stay in Antarctica. Special Hardship allowance rates are subject to revision in accordance with subsequent government order.

a.    Winter season will be 1st March to 30th November of each calendar year

b.    Summer season will be 1st December to 28th / 29th February of succeeding calendar year

4)   Selected candidates depending on whether for short term or long term shall be entitled for special kit allowance of Rs. 20000/- (short term) and Rs. 30000/- (long term) to be paid by NCPOR subject to production of original vouchers.

5)   Group Personal Accident Insurance Coverage upto 25 lakhs for the selected candidates will be provided by

NCPOR for the expedition period.

6)   Short listed  candidates will have to  undergo Medical Examination at All India Institute  of  Medical Sciences, New Delhi/ Goa Medical College, Goa and Pre-Antarctic Snow Ice Acclimatisation training at ITBP, Auli (near Joshimath, Garhwal, Himalayas) for about 15 days subject to COVID-19 protocol.  The dates will be informed by NCPOR later.

7)   On final selection the candidates will be required to sign a contract with NCPOR.

8)   Selected candidates will participate in the Antarctic expedition as team members and will have to perform all the routine duties and jobs related to expedition as assigned by the Leader of Expedition from time to time.

C.DOCUMENTATION AND PROCEDURE: -

9)    How to apply: Interested candidates need to register themselves by 15 July 2021  by filling online application form AL-2007 available at NCPOR website www.ncpor.res.in  along with copy of document proof for date of birth, PAN card, aadhar card, Marital status, educational qualification and relevant experience.

10) Experience  in  the  respective  trade  shall  be  considered  after  completion  of  educational/technical qualification i.e., degree/diploma/certificate course.

11) Individuals can apply for a maximum of two positions only however they will be allowed for selection process of one position.

13) In case of any difficulty individual can send the application form AL-2007 in physical form along with all the document on following address, however NCPOR will not be responsible for loss of application in transit or postal delays.

14) The list of screened-in candidate shall be displayed on NCPOR website  www.ncpor.res.in. For any query, you may contact 0091-832-2525523 or 0091-832-2525520 or can send email on logistics@ncpor.res.in .

15) Screened-in candidate shall be invited for interview/personal talk. Place and date shall be intimated over registered email-id.

16) Pre-interview written test shall be conducted depending on the number of shortlist candidates, interview may spill for next day.

17) The short listing for the posts shall be on the basis of performance of the screened-in candidates in the interview.

18) Shortlisted candidate need to bring original certificates/documents (proof of age, Pan card, Aadhar card, marriage certificate, qualification, experience and residential address) for verification at the time of interview along with one set of self-attested photo copies of relevant certificates. Applicants not having original certificates/documents will not be allowed to attend the interview and no TA/DA reimbursement of travel and accommodation shall be applicable.

19) Ex-servicemen/ Ex-Para-military/ Ex-Police Forces personnel to bring along the Identity Card and Discharge Book in original failing which they will not be allowed to attend the selection process and no TA/DA reimbursement of travel and accommodation shall be applicable.

20) Candidate’s  currently  working  in  any  other  organization  need  to  provide  the  proof  of  their  current employment with a service/experience certificate from the employer. Appointment order will not be considered as proof of current employment unless supported by recent three month salary slips.

21) The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. If the number of applications received in response to advertisement is large, it will not be convenient or possible for the Selection Board to interview all those candidates. The Centre may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit of desirable qualification and/or on the record of academic performance and/or relevant experience for the post prescribed in the advertisement as per the specific requirement of the Centre and/or any other benchmark decided by a committee constituted to screen the applications. No correspondence will be entertained with candidates who are not called for Interview.

22) Canvassing  in  any  form  and/or  bringing  any  influence,  political  or  otherwise  will  be  treated  as disqualification of candidature. No interim correspondence/inquiry will be entertained.

23) Candidates attending the interview will be paid sleeper class return fare by train/bus and accommodation for maximum 4 days at the rate not exceeding Rs. 500/- per day which shall be reimbursed only on production of original railway/bus ticket and hotel bill.

24) Discrepancies found in the certificate will attract the disqualification of applications. Non-production of the original certificates at the time of interview will also make the candidate disqualified. No travel reimbursement will be made to such candidates.
